Shadow of truth

When you meet someone who covers himself in a shadow of truth

Someone who changes right before your eyes

You look at him and wonder, why all the lies

Why pull me in if you don’t like who I am

Why pull me in if you like nothing that I do

How can you want someone who is so different from you

You lured me in with this shadow of who you are

Now I am here looking at you as you tear open a scar

Anger, Distance, Misery

This is what I see

Don’t you see that just isn’t me

I don’t care what I have to give up or do

I will not give up the things that I love

I will not turn into you
